Candelabra Significance

Catholic candelabras seem to hold symbolism in relation to the physical and spiritual manifestations of Christ.
Originally they are placed at the main altar during mass and at least 2 candles must be lit.
-The wax is the body of Christ (must be bee's traditionally)
-The wick is the soul of Christ
-The flame is the divinity of Christ
6 Candles seems to be the most common arrangement, however it isn't uncommon to find arrangements of 5, 7 or 9. The symbolic explanation to the numeration of the candles is still beyond me -difficult to find.
I will be looking into this further and posting an explanation once I do more research -as well as the nature behind the adjustable arms. I believe the arms when placed straight or angled downwards are used in mass to replicate a divine crucifix.

  1. -Looked into the sites that David had suggested as well as a few more. I believe we've already gone for this item? But just to clarify- there seems to be so many traditions regarding church candles that sifting through them to find the correct arrangement is an impossible feat. Many church laws with undercut others which are also seem to be further dissected into sub-laws.

The information posted above still stands -I don't believe there will be many people, if any who will raise a fuss about numeration. Many of the Orthodox churches seem to rely on 5 candle arrangements; however the Catholics do use them during special times as well. This doesn't seem like it will be a significant issue unless Danielle has strong objection to the number of holders for lighting purposes.
