Ophelia
"Ophelia" by Pagli Rajkonna*I really liked this painting, as its blue hue somewhat corresponds with Joanne's description of Ophelia's dress in her monologue to Rhonda: "And she got this heavy heavy blue dress, real...blue and then she wrapped all these pretty pretty flowers round and round her body, round her head and her hair..." (Thompson 29)
...and then we have the infamous Millais painting:
"Ophelia" by Millaisand riffing on Ophelia by Millais: Iranian filmmaker Shirin Neshat has some stunning scenes in her film Women Without Men, very much worth a watch, also for the scenes in the brothel
