Catholic candelabras seem to hold symbolism in relation to the physical and spiritual manifestations of Christ.
Originally they are placed at the main altar during mass and at least 2 candles must be lit.
-The wax is the body of Christ (must be bee's traditionally)
-The wick is the soul of Christ
-The flame is the divinity of Christ
6 Candles seems to be the most common arrangement, however it isn't uncommon to find arrangements of 5, 7 or 9. The symbolic explanation to the numeration of the candles is still beyond me -difficult to find.
I will be looking into this further and posting an explanation once I do more research -as well as the nature behind the adjustable arms. I believe the arms when placed straight or angled downwards are used in mass to replicate a divine crucifix.
